Gabriel Adjei Boampong

I build software people in Accra actually use.

Developer, database engineer, and data analyst. I build the product, design the database underneath it, and turn what it collects into answers.

Consumer web app

Chale, where?

Stop arguing about where to go. The board picks the spot.

A going-out guide that settles the "where should we go?" debate. Tell it the vibe and a split-flap board calls out a place. It also pulls in this weekend’s events, cinema showtimes, and food, fuel, cash, and pharmacies near you. Born in Accra, it works in any city.

Visit chalewhere.app (opens in a new tab)
Chale, where? on desktop: "Morning, chale." above a yellow card that picks African Regent Hotel, with this weekend’s events below.
Chale, where? on a phone: today’s pick, mood chips, and a bottom tab bar.
  • 280+ Accra restaurant menus, checked against the source daily
  • Weekend events merged from five ticketing sources
  • Silverbird showtimes with links to book seats
  • Design based on Ghana’s hand-painted signboards, with light and dark modes

Behind closed doors

And the systems behind the scenes.

Most of my day job runs inside organizations: internal platforms, databases, and analysis that never get a public URL.

  • Enterprise platforms

    MIS and intranet systems

Internal platforms that bring staff and department records, communications, administration, and workflows into one secure system with role-based access. I worked on the database design, business logic, permissions, and interface.

    PHP · PostgreSQL · Role-based access

  • Business intelligence

    Real-time BI dashboard

A dashboard that reads live from the source database and turns operational data into KPIs, trends, and drill-down views, so teams stop waiting for manually prepared reports.

SQL · Database integration · Data visualization

  • Data engineering

    Database engineering and reporting

Relational schemas, optimized SQL, SAP BusinessObjects universes, and Power BI reports, with validation at every step so the numbers hold up in review.

SQL · SAP BO · Power BI

More about the work

From the screen, down to the data, and back out as insight.

Products on the web

Storefronts, marketplaces, and apps, designed and built end to end, from the first sketch to launch.

Databases that hold up

Schemas, SQL that stays fast as data grows, and validation that catches bad data before anyone reports on it.

Analysis people trust

Data analysis, Power BI and BusinessObjects reporting, and live dashboards that turn raw operational data into decisions.
